The Washington Post talks about Digital Nomads and their ad hoc work environments and "jellies." The article is at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/25/AR200907....
I think they missed the flip side. Most people look at digital nomads and their wireless work environments that are always with them wherever they are and see the people working in this new wired (and unwired) world where location doesn't matter.
But when you walk into a place where several people are working wirelessly, it reflects on the location whether it be a coffee shop, a park, or a library. It's pretty easy to spot the people with laptops who are working but not really working together. The are together but they're bringing activity to the venue and broadcasting the message that this is a place where people accomplish things.
That may be why so many places encourage wirelessly working "loiterers."
Comments (particularly on good venues in the region) are more than welcome.
