Taxonomy and Views

This is really going to be important to automate your site. Don't go overboard to start with: 3 or 4 is just fine. The danger of too many is that you don't have enough content for each one.

Set up a view that you use to filter content. In the default view set it up to filter published nodes based on arguments for taxonomy terms. Then create panes from the basic view. This means that you can assemble your pages simple by place that view/pane onto a page and setting its arguments.

For example, the right-hand column might have your view show the first 5 stories marked with the taxonomy tag Marketing. Add a pager to it, and you're set. Creating a new story with the Marketing tag automatically updates that view.

If you decide to fine-tune your taxonomy terms, just add more terms to the view so that a second term can be used.

This can be the point where the magic happens. When the taxonomy terms and the view are set up, just create a story and it will be positioned where it belongs on the website automatically.

I like to set up the taxonomy terms and to avoid free-ranging tags. It makes the automation work more easily.

There's a great deal about this in the last four chapters of the book, so this is very brief.
