The Verizon/Rural Cellular (Unicel) issue is on the agenda for the FCC's August 1 meeting. One assumes that the spate of meetings this week was to wrap things up. If there are more documents posted in advance of the meeting, we'll link to them here.

Well I thought I would post an update from what I have heard of lately.
As I posted before, I was cautious of the iPhone with the issues with the Apps. So I went on eBay and bought a Blackberry Curve 8310. The phone was AT&T and so I was wondering about unlocking the phone.
Well I called AT&T and talked to a very nice support person. I asked about unlocking the device and he told me to call back and it will not be an issue at all. So I got the idea to ask about the AT&T deal with Verizon.
The guy told me we can expect a lot in the next year, aka FY 2009. Well I told him that there are a lot of people wanting AT&T and like a salesman he said they want all of us too.
Well I can not wait for AT&T and will not change over to Verizon or Nextel/Sprint. I am a die hard GSM customer and thus will buy a new phone from eBay with GSM, and will wait till my brothers' contract ends since we are sharing a family plan package and don't want to switch till his is out of contract.
Well I thought I would share my story since there has been no status and wanted to add like I usually do. If I hear any more news, this will be the first place I post.
