FileMaker 8 @ Work: Projects and Techniques to Get the Job Done, Jesse's new book on FileMaker includes projects with complete code and databases (downloadable from the Web). You'll see how to solve practical, real-life design issues as well as how to use new features in FileMaker 7 and FileMaker 8. (Don't worry if you have FileMaker 7 -- most of the projects can be used with it.)
We've made the transition (we think) to new blog-based software. If you're looking for something on this site and can't find it, please email Jesse and let him know.

Mac Mania Geek Cruise
Jesse's off to Alaska again on Mac Mania 6 with Geek Cruises. From May 26 to June 2, Mac Mania 6 (together with Aperture Aura) explores Alaska -- not to mention the ins and outs of these exciting technologies. Jesse will be talking about FileMaker and Automator.

Automator Training Video
One of the major new features of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) is Automator. It is a tool that lets you build workflows from actions that may be provided by Apple (over 200 are part of the Automator installation), by software developers -- or by you, following the techniques described in the second part of this tutorial. You can use Automator to automate repetitive tasks or to manage complex and rarely-performed tasks. If you have Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or later, you have Automator. Jesse Feiler guides you through using the software, taking advantage of the actions you already have, and show you how to build your own actions ranging from simple to complex using AppleScript and other technologies.
