Hi!
I just bought your new book, How To Do Everything With Web 2.0 Mashups at Barnes & Noble in Framingham, MA.
It's possible the book is aimed at someone at a higher level than I'm at, but I'm a little confused about the use of include files in some of the scripts. I gather they're there to stow API keys in. But I can't figure out by looking at them where I am supposed to be pasting the API key.
(I'm using the downloadable code from Chapter 16, "Use the Flickr API.") In the PageTop1 file, I know I'm supposed to put the API key somewhere, but I'm not sure where.)
If at all possible, I'd love to see a script that can be used just by pasting it into a document without reference to additional files. I understand why the use of includes makes it more elegant, and lets me use the code across many potential pages, but it also makes it more complicated, and I would really appreciate a test script that just let me start with a single php script that just let me paste my API key right in the script itself. If I had that, I'd change the variables, like the tags , bit by bit to see if I could get it working, or what happened when I changed things.
Thanks for writing the book. It's pretty exciting. I wish you every success with it.
I can send you a composite file if you send me your email address.
